The U21s celebrated their first home match with a 2-0 win against Dinnington Town U21s in the Worksop Van Hire North Midlands Development League on Monday evening at Grange Park.
After an open start to the match, Long Eaton United took the lead in the 30th minute with a clinical counterattack. Ben Sandhu led the charge and after Nathan Dean's initial effort was saved by the visitors' Goalkeeper Kieran Best, Sandhu tucked away the rebound with a composed strike.
Riley Phillips made it two in the second half — the tricky winger cut inside from the right and slotted the ball past Best to double the Blues' lead in the 74th minute.
Dinnington pushed for a consolation goal in injury time but could not make their late pressure count as they dropped points for the first time this season.
